Deer Forest's Storybook Lane:

Deer Forest's Storybook Lane has a wonderful history for many, many years. 

Who can forget the magic of getting your first elephant key, and bringing it to Storybook Lane, then keeping and treasuring it forever?

Your children's faces will light up as they turn the elephant key,  and listen to the many fairy-tale stories, children's songs, and other audio treats at Storybook Lane...

The Storybook Lane has recently been renovated by Mike & Cathy Talbot.  We thank them for all the hard work they have done in painstakingly restoring Storybook Lane.

Many long hours were spent by this couple on this project, mostly for their love of Deer Forest.

The genie to the right is now painted a gallant purple and blue...it was actually a gift from the Whirlpool Corporation some time ago...

...And, don't forget, those same Elephant keys you had as a kid can still be purchased at the ticket office for $3.00 each.

Your children will love and cherish their elephant keys, just like you did - it makes for a great souvenir...!

 One other interesting feature of Storybook Lane is how animals are integrated into the Storybook themes.  These ducks, for example, are a part of the "Ugly Duckling" Fairy Tale.

There are also "Three Little Pigs", and other fun Storybook themes where live animals are actually integrated with the scenery...
